Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

(makes 2 - 12 on. smoothies - good for 1-2 people, or double the recipe for the  whole family)

1 c. of org. pumpkin puree (can buy a can or use a pumpkin - see notes below)

2 frozen bananas

2 cups of oat milk (recipe down at the bottom)  or Vanilla Hempmilk

1 to 2 heaping tbl. Almond butter (or other favorite nut butters preferably organic)

1  tbl. of sweetener (I like Stevia or  agave)

Optional: Vanilla Protein Powder - (I like Amazing Grass Glow - with collage support or Sunwarrior vanilla collagen powder)

Optional: 1-2 capsules of  digestion capsules -  I use organic psyllium fiber from organic India, one to two capsules

Optional: a small amount of organic pumpkin spice for an added treat

Blend until smooth. If you need it colder, can add ice. If it needs more sweetner, add 1 tbl. more of sweetner. If too thick add more water.  If too thin, can add more nut butter and/or protein powder.

Note: Generally if you get a can of organic pumpkin puree it will have about 2 cups so you can use one cup and make two smoothies

How to Puree a Pumpkin: (optional)

If you have the extra time available to cook a pumpkin, cut the pumpkin in half, scoop out the seeds (can clean and dry to save for growing or bake to eat), optional:  can coat inner part with coconut oil, sunflower or grapeseed oil, put both halves on a baking sheet curved part outward, bake on 350 from anywhere from 20 min to 1 hour

Will depend on the size of the pumpkin

Bigger pumpkins will need more time until soft

Pull out of the oven and check the middle and side to check for softness

Once done, let it cool

Then you can scoop it out of the flesh

Blend the pumpkin innards

Or mash it by hand

Enjoy!

"Lovely Day" Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie

Makes about 4-5 cups (depending on the amount of bananas you put in)

Make Organic. Almond Milk (So Easy) 2 cups (see below if interested)

Frozen Organic Bananas (2-3) (broken into thirds, frozen night before)

Fresh or Frozen Organic Strawberries (Fresh is preferred)

1 heaping Tbl. Organic Sunflower Seed Butter (I like Once Again Creamy - lightly sweetened)

1/4 c. Org. Cacao Powder (I like the Navitas brand)

Vegan Protein Powder - chocolate flavor - (I love the Sunwarrior Protein Powders )

Add Ice cubes

Blend on high

I like to blend the mixture after each ingredient to make sure it gets all added in.

Take it on the go!

Organic Raw Almonds Milk - 2 servings -

(I get a bag from Sprouts but you can get these at Whole Foods, or your local health stores)

Handful of Raw Almonds in the blender (approx. 1/4 c. (light)- 1/2 c. (thick)

4 cups of pure water

Blend on high for 15-20 sec

Strain with a Nut Milk Bag or other fine type of strainer

Done!

This recipe will make 4 cups of almond milk ( I only use 2 cups in my smoothies, so if you make the full batch you will have an extra)

To make 8 cups of almond milk use at least 1/2 c.-1 c. almonds - depending on how thick and creamy you want it

Supergreen Shake!

I was first inspired by a blogger to embark upon the world of Green Smoothies, because....

I used to not be able to drink them. Didn't like them at all. Stayed away from them ....but

I was just doing it all wrong... she opened up my world to allow the creativity of green smoothies recipes to flow out of me.

This is one recipe that is tried and true for me.  So easy and delicious!

SUPER GREEN SHAKE!

2 cups almond milk (recipe above), (can use water but won't be as creamy)

2 -3 Frozen bananas  (2 will be thinner, 3 will be more shake like)

Handful of fresh greens, Kale, spinach or moringa (as pictured), (don't use lettuce, not a good fit)

1 -2 tbl. of Organic Nut butter (This is the secret ingredient to making it great)

Tbl. of Supergreens Powder (I use Sunwarrior Natural Supergreens)

1 tea. matcha powder (optional)

1 scoop (approx. 3 tbl.) Vanilla Protein Powder (I love Sunwarrior Vanilla Protein Powder)

3-4 ice cubes

Blend after adding each ingredient, blend until smooth.

Enjoy!  Would love to hear your comments about this smoothie, and what creativity you bring to this smoothie!

Best Date Shake Ever!

1 Frozen Banana (break it into pieces before putting it into a bag in the freezer)

4 super soft dates *

Ice (1 1/2 cup)

Oat Milk (to cover )

2 tablespoons of organic creamy almond butter

1 scoop of chocolate protein powder (I used KOS chocolate peanut butter flavor for this recipe)

Blend into smooth, you may have to blend it a bit more if the dates aren't super soft yet.

Add these ingredients to your blender in the order.

*For this are used for super soft dates and if yours are not super soft you might want to soak them in warm water for a few hours mine were organic Medjool dates

And then I blended it until smooth. I find that dates dates smoothies you have to blend a little bit more and if they’re super soft you don’t have to blend them as much but just check on it.  Super delicious!

Oat milk Recipe

1 cup of oats, preferably organic

5 cups of water

blend together on high for at least 16 sec

strain with a nut milk, bag or cheese cloth.

If you want to drink it immediately try to chill the water before hand. If not, you can add ice to the oat milk and then straighten out the ice.
